CSIA Update: Committee action in the House

This just in from Energy and Environment Daily today:  the House Subcommittee on Environment and the Economy will hold its third hearing this year on the Toxic Substances Control Act, this time focusing on state preemption and the regulation of existing chemicals.  Billed as an educational hearing, the meeting this Wednesday, September 18th at 2 p.m. in 2123 Rayburn, comes as the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee continues work on a bipartisan TSCA reform bill (as Caitlin blogged below).  Witnesses will include Mark Greenwood, principal of Greenwood Environmental Counsel PLLC; Justin Johnson, Deputy Secretary for the Vermont Agency of Natural Resources; William Rawson of Latham & Watkins LLP; and Jennifer Thomas, director of federal government affairs for the Alliance of Automobile Manufacturers.  The House has not proposed a wholesale TSCA reform bill but is expected to consider CSIA if it moves through the Senate.
