Delegation Alums

Vermont Law School students who have served on the law school’s COP/CMP delegations have pursued their passion for the environment and international law after graduation. Since VLS first sent an NGO observer delegation to COP15/CMP5 in December 2009 in Copenhagen, Denmark, up till our most recent delegation to COP23/CMP13 in Bonn, Germany, last December, graduates of the course have gone on to a variety of internships and full-time employment in international environmental law in both the public and private sectors. Examples include the UNFCCC Office of Legal Affairs and Loss and Damage Division; the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs (DESA) in the Division for Sustainable Development; Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD); Environmental Protection Agency Office of General Counsel (EPA-OGC); National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA); Environmental Law Institute (ELI); International Union for the Conservation of Nature (IUCN); Institute for Governance & Sustainable Development (IGSD); Sustainable Development Solutions Network; and International Resources Group, a US-AID contractor.
